I have a 74 that I am building into a dedicated trail clean up truck.

I am a bit undecided on the color. I just received a Hartley TNT grill for the truck and need to make a choice on the final color of the truck.

It is tan now.

Question:
What Color?

Choices:
Leave it Tan.
Rescue Green. (2007 Jeep Wrangler Color)
OD Green. (but modern metalic)
Bright Silver
Charcoal Grey
Other?!

We want the truck to look appealing to the general public though. Painting it camo might just make people ignore it.

Okay. Sorry this took so long. I have just not taken the time to take pics before. Sorry these are not great. Just had enough time to pull it out of the garage this morning, snap a few pics and put it away.

LET THE PHOTOSHOPING BEGIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I actually tried the Hammerite black on one of the doors. It does not come out that well.

The current tan is actually about $20 of shake-n-shoot paint from Home Depot Big Grin

We just rustoleum'ed our 725. Its satin black. Shot it with an HVLP gun, thined 15%. Turned out fairly well, especially for a guy that's never used a HVLP gun before Smile

I'll get pics as soon as we have enough drivetrain on it to move it.

My new grill finally got here from www.HartleyTNT.com.

They donated this to my "Trail Clean up" project. KC Highlights donated the lights you see mounted in the grill.

Since I am not sure what color I am going to paint the truck yet I am also not sure what color to paint the grill. So what you see here is bare metal. I just wanted to test fit it to make sure everything was going to fit right.

I was also curious how it mounted before I got it so I included a quick mounting picture. Just have to drill 4 quick holes and its done.

I like it!! What do you think?

Well, I must be nuts. I stumbled upon a crew cab shell that needs lots of love. I have always thought this project would be better as a crew cab so that you could haul a couple of guys up to a trail to work on it. (Plus I have always loved these old chevy crew cabs.)

Figured since we were going to tear the whole truck down to do paint and body anyway we may as well do it on the crew cab and eventually swap over the other parts. I could use all the help I can get if anyone wants to work on it. (Or would like to buy the other shell when I am done)

I will have to look into that.

So the old truck left the building last week. Making more room to work on the new one. Did I forget any parts off of it?

Scott keeps coming over and cutting chunks out of my truck. Hopfully soon he will start putting some metal back in it. We also did some cleaning of the frame and front clip prepping it to go back together. (the rest of my crew bailed on my this weekend, and then they wonder why it won't be ready for Moab EJS?

Doesn't look too bad from this angle and lighting. Check out that new tailgate, Superlift Rockring and I'm sure a few other things.

If you want attention, than do it in US Forest Service Green. (that minty-looking light green color) Like this one:
