I had a tera flex kit on my 2002 TJ and I liked it ok, but it wasn't the long arm, lately I have been reading of people having issues with the tera stuff though, I don't know how true that is and how wide spread, I do hear alot of good things about the Rubicon Express stuff though, might want to check into that one as well and see if you can find some people local to you that have the kits and take a look at them and ask how they are holding up....maybe a local 4x4 shop that does the install and has seen the issues with both...

The problem with RE is there is no upgrade kit. I have all the stuff i need for a short-arm lift already.... All i need is the long arms and brackets to mount them. Which leaves me with two choices... Rockkrawler and Teraflex (both upgrade kits run around a grand).
The people I know with the older Tera kits like them OK... Most have to change bushings far too often because they wear out. The newer Tera stuff looks nice. I've heard that they no longer offer the old design stuff, but it sure looks like the old stuff in the pictures on their web site. So how true that is, I don't know. Rockkrawler isn't a brand that is known for their quality, or their customer service. In the past, I've read alot of negative stuff about them. But lately, they seam to have improved on their product design. I really like the triangulated rear idea, and they now offer a weld-on cradle instead of the one that bolts to the diff cover. The one person I know with an RK kit likes it... So that's what I've got to go by. Me... I still haven't decided what I wanna do as far as upgrading to long arms. But my bushings are worn out on my short control arms, so i better start thinkin' about it (and saving up some $$$). ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ "A man without beer is like a lawnmower without grass." |

Yuri.. RE does a $1200 'upgrade kit'. Replaces all of the arms except the front uppers which are used in the radius arms.
I've run the Tera LA upgrade kit with the AiRock for about 2.5 years. now. No real problems. Did manage to tear a stock front upper in half, but replaced those with RE arms. It flexes to the extent that the shocks allow, which has been pretty good soo far. The arms are beefy and the mounts work well. The idea that the pinions cycle poorly is a little unfounded for a 4" lift. I end up cycling the AiRock through its up/down settings fairly often when checking out the suspesion for clearance issues. The rear pinion stays pointed right at the same spot on the back of the t-case throughout the whole cycle. On a larger scale of movement the difference in length between the upper and lower arms might make a difference, but with proper bumpstops at 4" of lift its well within tolerance. I wouldn't take one much higher than 4". At that point the front uppers start pointing close to straight down at ride hight and odd things start happening. Really couldn't beat the $800 I paid for the arms. It was about that much just to replace all of the lowers with short arms. I am thinking of adding the RK rear triangulation setup with the cradle. That's more to elimate the trackbar vs. gastank skid problem common in TJs. Jason 1997 TJ 4.0L AW4 D44/Super 8.8 35x12.5 KM2, Onboard Air Gen II AiRock/Longarms PRR Inc, Because rocks can't drive |

i had currie jj arms all the way around and they were great for short arm. problem is is that when you start to really step up on flexing your jeep out your rear upper arm brackets will crack on you. i now have the RE upgrade kit and so far go great. i will be doing a clayton rear triangulated setup in the future. thats my solution
