Hello,

I am wanting to buy a new set of 15"X10" wheels for my '92 YJ and I was wondering how the backspacing effects the setup. I am assuming the less backspacing you have the further the wheels are set out. I am also assuming the less backspacing you have the wider tire you can run without interference. Please let me know if this is correct and what other advantages and disadvantage there are in having more or less backspacing.

Thanks very much and Happy Independence Day!

Why are you going to 15x10's? You going wider than a 12.5" tire?

Yes, I am planning on either going with the new SS IROK in 36X13.50-15 or the SX in 35X15.50-15 and both require a minimum of a 10" wide wheel.

Recently there was an article in a rag talking about tire scrub. Basically, a line drawn from your upper ball joint through your lower ball joint(or king pin) should land in about the center of you tire contact patch to have the least amount of tire scrub. Just something to keep in mind.
