I have a 96 jeep grand cherokee limited and I am wanting to lift it, I went to tarhell 4x4 and I was told that I could not due to my quadratec all time 4 wheel drive, i would have constant vibrations and a over all bad ride in my jeep. I have found a lift and I was wondering if i were to put a transer case drop kit would that solve my probelm?

I had 5.5 on mine without an sye, but i had the 242 tcase. You should be fine with a 4.5 lift on that jeep. nagca.com

depends on the size tires you want to run and how much sheetmetal you wouldn't mind taking away Wink
I only have a 2" bb on mine , but then and again -> it's a pavement pounder with only an occasional off road/dirt road adventure Big Grin

Stupid I believe u can run 35's with that kit, but you will have to do some cutting. I think with that much lift u will have problems with the 249.

I have no idea how much experience you have, but if you are fairly new to wheeling and/or plan to drive much if any onroad, don't go so high! IMHO Smile Roll Eyes Big Grin

Honestly, id go with the 4.5 re long arm with 33's. Looks great, and less stress on your drivetrain.

If you can look at long arms they won't beat you to death on the road like short arms will.

I think the 4.5 kit looks great with 33's. U need to do a little trimming to get 12.50's on there. Make sure you use a 15x8 with 4.5 backspacing, and they will fit fine.

Ive seen people get away with running the 4.5 with the 249, it is basically trial and error. I rand 5.5 inches of lift on mine with a 1inch tcase drop, and i ddint even need a sye. You can always just get a 242 out of a 6cyl grand, that might be a little easier swap.
