NAT .. yes, it would be good to find a solution to this problem (wear), in the centre of this piece of plastic ..

I buy these other four tires, for these small pieces of plastic .. and also, to have spare tires ..

I have always in my head, the project JEEP NAT CRAWLER .. :-)

NAT hex is way to small for the size tire.....
No clue why toy grade companies would use that.
Even a 12mm hex would spin after time I bet.

WAYNE S .. you're right, this hex is very small, everything is broken on the rock .. we must find a way to make stronger the centre (hex) of these rims .. if this piece (hex) was metal, it would be better ..

the hex on a 1/6 scale N/B is it just an adapter
or is it also there to hold the screw on?

If it is just an adapter. There would be simple fixes to it. Hobby guys have the same problems and I do not under stand why they just don't epoxy the hex to the wheel. Plastic hexes are cheap and the hex design is not even needed most hobby grades a pin is what turns the wheel with the axle.

--------------------
Jeep101 I know you tried your best to tell people what you need.

Scale/front or back is also needed.

wayne the 1/6 wheels bolt on to the hub there are no screws the set up is much like hobby wheels except the hex is at the front of the wheel not the back like most hobby wheel so it is not possible to glue this hex on the axel .i started looking into this a while back and started a thread ,hoping some one would take it further ,but know one took up the challenge . Frown....... http://rcboards.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/8401055751/m/2391026494

Wow I don't even recall that thread. Seams I must of replied to it. Must of been pretty drugged up that day. If I replied that early in the morning here. between 4:35-8:35 AM on a Thursday.

Not saying to glue hex on the axle. I`m saying glue the hex to the rim. The hex piece is rounding the edges? Or is the axle a D groove and the inside of the hex (center) rounding?

:::::::::::Loulou if you wanted to learn, you could make your own mold and make a metal hex if you wanted to out of aluminum or diecast (potmetal) just using a map gas torch can melt it easily. Thing that I would think of is. If the hex was metal then the rim would round off
instead of the hex. So my thoughts are, the problem would just shift from one part to the
other.

I guess casting a piece out of potmetal might be worth a shot then. Only other option with the stock pieces is cutting a slot in the rim and drilling the axle for a pin.

Making a casting is not that hard and at-least you don't loose the master if it does not work.

I believe that the best solution (for 1/6 JEEP-LAND ROVER ), is to weld (or other system) an adapter on the end of each shaft .. and prepare the rims, accordingly .. make them stronger in preparation to make (made) a crawler .. on the rock, the rims are suffering a lot of pressure .. especially with a fourth gear :-)

good idea loulou i believie the best way is to use hobby wheel hexes such as these in the pic they are 12mm i think the stock hexes are 12mm plz check. they should fitt right in the wheel. a hole would need to be drilld in the back of the wheel so the hexes could slipp on from the back like hobby wheels also then the hexes need to be glued in the wheel a small hole would need to be drilld in the axel to accept the pins .but this should be easy to do these hexes are metal so should take the abuse of rockcrawling . this is the way i intend to do this ,thanks ...... http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXJYM5

Well thanks all for your help and knowledge but no thoughs are not the part I'm speaking of. I have the Silver RockCrawler Jeep that I believe came out just 2 years ago with the same under body it seems as the new Land Rover I see on the front home page of rockcrawler.com. Same wheels and tires im sure so the pic shows. What im looking for is the housing that the simple little screw that holds the tire on actually screws into. On my model which is factory, the item is white and is attached in 2 areas, to the steering and the axle. I wish I could get a pic of it but at this time im not able to. Maybe this explanation is better and I hope I can get this fixed soon. I leave new Grave Digger, yes the REAL Grave Digger that you see on TV and he has a RC park he has installed and might be adding a Rock Crawling event so im told so I wanted to get the one I have back working then possibly upgrade and modify as needed. If anyone has an idea of how I can get this part and any modification advice I would love to hear about them thanks and hope this is resolved soon.
