Hi,
My grandson has a newbright Land Rover LR3 1:6 scale it is 2 wheel drive 19.2V .. It was given him because it doiesnt actually work (he is only 7 .. but I thought I'd try and get it going .. I know almost nothing about RC .. all my radio experience was with valves (tubes?).. it seems the circuit board has gone faulty or could there be a fuse ? how do I check? and New Bright is not a regular RC marque in the UK .. anyone got a working one to spare ..what would be your price and cost of dispatch to UK .. can pay by PayPal

Thanks for your attention

Ben Parkes

hi benp iam also from the uk .first of there is no fuse in the 1/6 lr3 it has thermall cut outs that shut down the electronics when overloaded or hot ..to be honest newbright electronics are not the best most of the guys rip these out and replace them with hobby grade .but if you intent on replacing the stock board look in the spares section some one will have a working board . thanks

Does this unit run one battery (19.2) or the dual 19.2's? There are a few different versions
do you have any pics of it?

ben .p i was incorrect it does have a fuse and the chances are it has blown you need to check this with a multi meter if it has blown you can solder some fuse wire between the terminals as i have done in the past . see pic .30 amp wire does the trick .

there are so meny different types of electronic board in the 1/6 but yours looks the same as the newbright beetle as jeff suggested .and as you can see buy the pic above this board does have the fuse the board with the twin 19.2 volt batts is the type with the thermal cut outs .thanks

Ah well, back to the drawing board ..

yes, it is, as you say, a fuse, and it is blown .. tried wire across it and even with no servos connected blows the wires .. no sign of damage to the board, so the fuse is doing its job .. checked with my meter .. went up to (I can't believe) 20Amps indicated before I took the meter off .. so I reckon the board is headed for the skip .. probably closeley followed by the motor .. perhaps I can sell the bits

Thanks for you interest and time

regards

Ben
