I have an 84 W/2.8and3spd auto,is it a C4,how can I tell?also I,m putting a TBI 302(85 T bird doner)in it will axles be ok with no other mods? I live in washington so I see mud,rocks, roots and whatever else.

Hey where you at in WA? Im over in spokane but I frequent the tri cities alot too. To answer your question the rear axle is a 7.5 inch and will hold up to a 302 fine as long as you dont go over a 33 inch tire. If you are worried you can upgrade to an 8.8 from a ranger or explorer. The front dana 28 is very weak and should be upgraded to a dana 35 from a 89 or newer ranger or explorer. Checkout these forums for much more info and ask the guys there anything.
